The family of two young brothers who died in a canoeing accident in the Highlands have said they are “utterly devasted” by the loss. Five year old Ewan Beaton and his two year old brother Jamie died yesterday after their boat capsized in Loch Gairloch. The recovery operation for their father has been stood down for the day. In other news: A man who was living in Glasgow as a fake asylum seeker has been jailed for 7 years for funding terrorism. Nasserdine Menni was convicted of transferring money to the Stockholm suicide bomber. A man accused of murdering a Lanarkshire pensioner by driving over him with his own car, has claimed he killed him by accident. And in sports: Stuart McCall says he hopes to bring in new faces ahead of Friday’s transfer window deadline. The Motherwell manager will take an injury ravaged squad to play Levante in the Europa League on Thursday. Rangers have been handed a trip north to face Forres Mechanics in the Second Round of the Scottish Cup. The Ibrox club will play last year’s Highland League winners on Saturday, 29th of September.
