Scotland’s first female chief constable is to stand trial, accused of causing a head-on car crash. The head of Fife Constabulary, Norma Graham, has denied a charge of careless driving on the Cluny to Kinglassie Road in February. It’s alleged that her car collided with another vehicle, injuring the driver and herself. Trial was set for December at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, with a further hearing in November. Miss Graham is due to retire at the end of this month. In other news; NHS Tayside has launched a campaign to raise awareness of HIV. Posters are being displayed on buses to highlight a website aimed specifically at gay and bisexual men. It’s part of a wider scheme to improve support services, which will see the opening of a new community clinic in Dundee to make it easier for men to get tested. Experts say an increasing number of men, in particular those in their teens and twenties, are being diagnosed with the infection in the local area. And in sport; Dundee United have been charged by UEFA after crowd trouble broke out at their Europa league qualifier against Dinamo Moscow last week. The club have announced they’ve launched their own internal enquiry into the incident which saw 3 fans arrested.
