Dogs Driving Cars

.A trio of dogs have learned how to drive. Yes, you read that right. As the video above illustrates, these hounds are perfectly at ease behind the wheel. The somewhat startling sight is the product of two months of training with Mark Vette, New Zealand TV station Campbell Live reported. The stunt is part of a campaign by the New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), meant to clear up “common misconceptions” about rescue dogs. The gist of the campaign is to show rescue dogs may have been abandoned, abused and forgotten, but they’re still smart. “Sometimes people think because they’re getting an animal that’s been abandoned, that somehow it’s a second-class animal,” SPCA Auckland CEO Christine Kalin told the New Zealand Herald. “Driving a car actively demonstrates to potential rescue dog adopters that you can teach an old dog new tricks.”

  2. UUUHH! What part of this vid shows the dog driving? The last part of the vid is the dog reacting to commands of a handler, but no Conscious decision to drive! Nothing impressive until the dog can Consciously make the decision to drive w/out visual or audio commands!!!

  3. Schnauzers are hard to control because they are so smart and have minds of their own. I know, I have one or he has me and that dog is quick as a whip!

  4. I need to teach my dogs, that means a D.D always,
I can get drunk without the fear of DUI
