Ken Weger talks about the Raleigh Super Safety 7, The Citroen 2CV and the 1951 Crosley Super Sport at his Small Wonders Micro/ Minicar Museum 16Dec2010, I was just browsing through a copy of Classic & Sports Car from Sept 1999 and there on page 23 is a story about Ken Weger and a 1952 Crosley SS, this very car.
Video Rating: 4 / 5
There was also a two-engined four wheel drive Citroën 2CV. Fuel tanks where placed under the front seats. The normal front wheel drive happened to be in rough terrain very capable. Later on they built also the Mehari, which was also available as a four wheel drive, a more Jeep-like vehicle. The ignition was very reliable, acting “double”, just for simple construction purposes.
2cv is not a microcar. It’s just a regular car.
I’ll pass this along to Ken Weger. Thanks.
Hi Mr. Derer, sugest a Gurgel Supermini and a Lannes 250 for this museum…
i think they already have the Isetta and Peel P50…
The best: Citröen 2cv. I had four ! Greetings from Argentina. Good Museum!,
It’s one of the first 2cv generation !
2.57…a Berkeley. An amazing British ‘sports’ car. Brake drums on the OUTSIDE of the wheels. Chain drive. Pretty gutless, but rare. 250cc Anzani or BSA ??
Love to see a little feature on it. Thanks for the 5 parts Chuck.
Hello and would you like to come and see and help with my Micro car collection here in Australia.
I have owned the Prototype lightburn Zeta Sports and my genuine and original nearly complete Triumph Super seven roadster since 1979 and wish to donate them to the best museum and restoration/driving RobinHeath57@live.com
the super seven is funny, its like a motorcycle went to a halloween party dressed as a car!
Gotta love the 2CV. They’re surprisingly resilient, and you never suffer from a lack of visibility.
About 20 years ago in the states there was, and maybe there still is, a company that was importing and rebuilding them to sell here. The price was right.
We saw a mint condition Citroen 2CV in Hinsdale last week at the Independence Parade. At first I thought it was a Saab or Volvo.
One detail that every time brings a smile on my face: king size Ferrari flag in “Mini cars museum”.
You and Ken might enjoy this video: /watch?v=5ZzNDzy9710. It’s Ferrari 355 powered Citroen Acadyane, wide boddied.
During the 80′s, I myself owned one 2 CV and one Dyane (later, redesigned, model). Great, enjoyable rides! Realy loved them. As the matter of fact, I owned one for a month in summer 2008, Drivable, but way too shabby and xpensive to restore, so I sold it.
Great vid, Chuck.
Thanks, we still have 2 more floors to visit.
I really liked this series of vids Chuck. Very interesing. Thanks again.
