  1. I Would Love to drive the C6R because it is set on kill mode, it (Jake) doesn’t know anything else but destroy, where as the ZR1 gives you a choice.

  2. But GM’s OHV engines is gonna get better though. Because the new C7 engines is gonna have direct injection and VVT (variable valve timing)

  3. Ya I think it might have been an edlebrock one, a from blueprint, I don’t think i’ve ever seen an aftermarket cam for an LS that is emissions legal

  4. That reminds me of Vic Edelbrock’s engines. But Im willing to bet that you probably cant mass produce those for production cars because they probably wont do well with emissions.

  5. I believe that i’ve actually seen some LS-based stroker engines that push 630 hp on 7L, but with a rather aggressive cam and very high flow cylinder heads/manifold and a nice big throttle body

  6. Well you are just not gonna get high HP per liter with an OHV engine. They just dont have the internals for that. One of the better ones I’ve seen though was the Saleen S7. It had a 7.0L OHV V8 that produced 550HP. I’ve never seen an OHV V8 that produced more power per liter than this one naturally aspirated. GM loves OHV engines because they are easier to maintain and lighter even when bigger than some DOHC engines.

  7. Ya but that means the design isn’t as good as it could be, and this is coming from a big fan of LS engines, I just don’t think that they are amazingly designed, it’s all very basic and simple, which is good, but not exactly engineering master class.

  8. If it had “unparalleled design excellence” why does the Z06 need 7000 cubic centimetres to make only 505 hp? That’s insane!

  9. I would prefer the C6.R as driven in the FIA GT1; (just remove the air restrictors :) ). That car has is wider then the GT2 Jan Magnussen drives with, and has much more downforce for even faster laptimes (would love to take the GT1 C6.R to the Nordschleife :) ). Yet, for ‘normal’ citizens, the ZR1 will do very nicely too!! Great cars. Very happy GM makes them.

  10. If a Porsche/Ferrari engineer would hear you saying that the corvette is a symbol of precision engineering, he would have an allergic rush or a heart attack! LOL

  11. The corvette is a real man’s sport car because you have to really drive the car to get the best out of it not like the others it’s like driving a video games

  12. Last guy is right. The Corvette has muscle but is not a muscle car. Instead it’s the epitome of what a high performance American Sports car is. Big engine, lot’s of torque, still available with a real manual transmission versus some witchcraft double clutch slush box bullshit and the rear wheels supply the thrust :) Love the way the European guy talks about the Vette. He really get’s a kick out of driving that beast.

  13. @sweetcarguy man fuck you its not a shitvette its a Corvette and a viper can suck it who gives a shit about records there useless they are the past if you were to race a Corvette right noe youll lose for sure

  14. This is a tough one.. They both sound really good, and they both move like nothing else. I’d like to get into the C6.R with the restrictor plates removed… but for the sake of this comparison, I’ll go with the ZR1, even though the C6.R has that great exhaust note.

  15. such an overall shity video, no sense that they were even there, it looks like they took footage from a commercial or something and looped audio over it, and how do they have both a red and black zr1, further justify’s I think footage is not original, by the end I have no idea for what differences each car has, besides stats sheet, how about in car video or analysis while driving, not some stupid interview from a driver, overall this video sucks

  16. The “General” does’t have anything to really put up against Mopar. I recall back in the 80′s the vette couldn’t even keep up with a little turbo charged V6 from Buick. PLEASE oh PLEASE don’t anyone bring up Ford. Carroll Shelby as always was contracted by Ford to put any real performance on the street!
