  1. The Gen coupe in my mind makes up for the flawed execution of the Sonata. I would buy it over either of these two in a heartbeat. Hyundai has yet to build a better car than this.

  2. This may come as a surprise to you, Speed Racer wannabe, but not everyone knows how to drive a stick. And for those who don’t you have to give them some kind of choice.

  3. if you can’t drive stick, then you should go back to your coloring book loser.

  4. Sometime what once was is better than what is. The sad truth is I do resent not having the twins because people who like cars deserve choices. The Miata being the only car left in a segment represents a lack of choices. Pontiac and Saturn were far from perfect but they at least had something to offer people who didn’t want to drive the same car everyone else was.

  5. Doesn’t make it a good car. It just makes it the only choice left in a segment.

  6. then how come it loses on race tracks against its competitors? like civic si im willing to bet a civic ex would match its lap time or beat it.

  7. i saw an FRS with a mangled front fender at tim hortons
almost brought a tear to my eye :(

  8. Just got home from a deployment to a BRZ in the driveway. Can’t stop thinking about getting back out there and driving it. Fun fun fun

  9. There is a fastidious road test of the BRZ here:

  10. À 4:16 on voit qu’ils ont tous essayé de faire la même calandre que Mazda mais Mazda a des brevés alors leurs calandre ça fait un peu du n’importe quoi!

  11. Excellent review, driving experience is #1. You can throw all the HP you want into a car, but without a refined chassis and phenomenal response the car is nothing more than an engine with wheels. The BRZ/FRS/GT86 is a car for drivers, not HP junkies.

  12. To me the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky twins are infinitely cooler than the Miata will ever be. Miata only has a stranglehold on the market because no car competes directly with it anymore.

  13. Say what you will about the Miata, but it’s still one of the best driver’s cars to have ever hit the road.

  14. Hyundai doesn’t build a lot of cars here that offer a stick shift to start with. I don’t gripe about the stick shift mostly because i don’t know how to drive one without stalling. The ’013 Gen does offer an 8-speed automatic with two forms of manual shifting. I wouldn’t go near an MX5 because it’s still a chick car and it doesn’t have enough space for me to do anything with. I chose the Genesis because of its looks, performance, features, and level of comfort relative to its competitors.
