if its mounted on the front of the roof of your car, enough to get the front windshield and the hood is a pretty sweet front facing shot
How come everyone who uses a GoPro has to have THEMSELVES or THEIR VEHICLE in the shot??? Just show the damn scenery. Some snow boarder sent me a link to his footage and it was 10 minutes of his stubbly beard and random snow flying past, lol… I don’t WANT to see your exhaust pipe.
Great idea with the rope holding the camera and mount together. I’m gonna use this!
I think you will look for a needle in a haystack when the Gopro falls of on its own
where did you get the suction cup mount
Thanks a lot!
The one i like is the front door
Exhaust shots are good if you mount the camera behind the exhaust, for example on the back bumper behind the car, not on the side like in the video, facing the exhaust. That You might want to get a more top-down shot. Also a good shot of the driver is mounting the camera on the passenger’s side window, facing the driver. And once I duct-taped the camera to the gear shift lever – each gearshift moved the camera with driver reaching for it. Gave a very cool feel.
Good vid mate cheers
Once again thanks sooo much for this review !!
Sweet Video Dude I’ve got an Audi as well Awesome Car and a big help for spots to mount to saves me havering to try it.
I´m learning a lot! Thank´s and congratulation for the videos!
sweet
Back corner of the hood facing the road.
What do you tether it to on the car
Its a very good shot for showing the driver getting into the car, or a passenger sticking the head out of the window (looks better if passenger is in the front sit)
I have a duel exhaust with a high rising rear bumper and I mounted it to my diff. pointing out the back. you get a really good shot of the car behind you, especially when they’re drafting you.
yea. its like rubbing some 1k grit on the door lol.
You talk lot about tying the camera on for safety but never show it. I would have been more interested to see where you are trying on.
great review , could i use this as a dash cam inside on the windscreen and does it have continual record ablity(looping)
thankyou
In my Challenger a couple times i mounted the go pro upside down, from the sun roof facing forwards out the front window. Its a sweet shot, see a little of the interior, and see some of where the car is moving too. You can see that in my ChallengerTalk Video. Its windy since i had the windows open. lol But I may try moving it back some when i get a Hero 3 (very soon) to try to get more of the side mirror to see behind the car in the video, and a little more dash.
Not sure if anyone else has tried it but if you can mount it on the rear window facing forward you can get some decent shots but be sure to change the settings so that the gopro will pick up whats outside of the car not just alot of white outside of the windows and only the interior of the car..made that mistake the first time.(I think its the spot setting.)
I’m a detailer, and that was painful…
hi Kyle, I like your videos. They are very useful. With which FOV do you work usually? What do you think for what occasions is narrow, medium or wide useful. Thx for you answer. Stephan from Switzerland
