Glasgow & West – Tuesday, October 4, 2011

Five members of a drugs gang who flooded Scotland with cocaine worth an estimated 40 million pounds have been jailed for a total of 43 years. In other news: Scotland’s Chief Inspector of Prisons has called for expulsion to be scrapped; a 57 year old man has been stabbed while trying to stop his neighbour’s car from being stolen in Coatbridge; the family of 20 year old Jordan McGinty have appealed to their missing son to let them know he is safe; and in sport, Scotland could be without captain Darren Fletcher and vice captain Kenny Miller for this weekend’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Liechtenstein. This is an international version of the news that may have been edited for rights reasons.
