hey bro I gotta give you mad props for doing what you did.
I bet if that car could talk he would thank you every single day.
I want to start a project similar to this with my old man pretty soon I hope it turns out to be a fun experience.
thank god there are still people in this world like you! I to have a 68 Chevelle in my garage doing a restoration on it. not full though, it just needs a little touch up on body work and paint. then we are putting all new mechanics in it and we are doing the interior. me and my dad are probably going to go get the new block for it today and I’m really excited. this was a great video. beautiful car! good job man!
God i love seeing someone take a classic car from near death and breath eternal life back into it. Excellent job of documentation & restoration..someone somewhere sat’s and stares deep into that beautiful red paint.
I miss the days when tou could pick up Chevelle with no motor/trans for $100-200 ..my first 68 SS396 I bought off of a dealer in the summer of 1976 for $495.A year later it got totaled and I got another 68 SS body for $225…a year later,August 1978 I bought my current 68 SS for $80 and sold the wheels off of it for $40….those days are gone
Thank you I wish I did, I sold it 4 years ago and have regretted it ever since. Thank you for the story on your Chevelle, maybe there is another in both of our future.
I restored a 1968 Malibu with a friend over the summer of 1979. Painted it red just like yours…looked exactly like it. Before I could put the side view mirrors on some lady hit me head on in a K-Mart parking lot. I Drove it with extensive front end damage for about 1 year but then joined the Air Force. I parked it in a farmers field in Grand Rapids MI. For all I know it’s still there. Thanks for the memories and fantastic job hope you still own this beauty.
Thank you for the kind words & good luck with your upcoming project.
