euronews interview – Antonio Tajani on SMEs, strategy and new economy

www.euronews.com Serge Rombi: “Hello and welcome. We’re with Antonio Tajani, a vice-president of the European Commission and Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship. Hello.” Antonio Tajani: “Hello everyone.” Serge Rombi: “Factories are closing, unemployment is increasing, SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), aren’t surviving the economic crisis. Is it all completely unavoidable or can we get out of it?” Antonio Tajani: “We have to get out of it. We’re committed to putting the real economy at the centre of economic policies. We have made mistakes in the past, by only putting finance and services at the centre. We pushed industry and enterprise into a corner. But we have to do exactly the opposite: put industry and enterprise at the centre and use finance to help the real economy.” Serge Rombi : “It’s urgent because some sectors are very badly affected, I am especially thinking of the automobile sector. The great majority of European manufacturers have really suffered in this crisis. Carlos Ghosn, the CEO of Renault, said a few days ago at the opening of the Paris Motor Show: ‘If things go on like this, Renault could disappear.’” Antonio Tajani: “I am working on an action plan to help the automobile sector. We are going to increase the money committed in our financial plans to 1.5 billion euros for research and innovation in the ‘green’ car sector. Green cars will also be at the centre of our new industrial policy. So we will be putting everything into trying

  1. Hello! Have you heard related to the Tube Cash Exposure? I learned it on Google Search and found out lots of impressive stuff about it. A lot of my neighbor also recommend me to look into it

  2. PS:- had to post twice the Ipad doesn’t ‘reply’ properly …. Anything rational and/or democratic to say today?

    Is today the day you realise you can’t impose the EUSSR on people who have never had a say on whether they want governed by it? Is today the day you will support EU wide referendums to allow people that voice to choose whether or not they want a federal Europe?

    Or is the same old crud today? – Gag the people the ‘project’ is too important for democracy to get in the way!

  3. yes it’s me again and no I won’t as you wish ‘fuck off’ I will be here every day, every hour of every week, every month and every year. Deal with it, you reckon you can bully me? Please try.. I will not go away until we have democracy reintroduced and until the EU have the courage to put their existence to the people directly. Until that point they are a self imposed government with no mandate, no thanks to that!

  4. crazy talk my friend is imposing government on people who have never had a say in that government being created … Like the citizens of the ussr. How did that work out? Toxic food? Who on earth would buy that? We have regulation in our own country against that why would we want the EU involved? Your argument is fragile to say the least.

  5. the first sense you have spoken business and people need there head. Liberty of contract and sensible border controls that don’t distort labour markets. But the flagship policies of the EU are to interfere, to increase costs, to impose political ideals and crazy PC law. Are we better off without that ….. Well if you can add and subtract yes ! Not to mention the gains in franchise for the people – imagine electing people that governed you …. Not in the EUSSR.

  9. crazy talk;

    businesses are more regulated in the EU than in China or the US and indeed sometimes too much; but China and the US are on the opposite extreme, they’re businesses are so unregulated, you can end up, for example, eating toxic products that resemble food instead of actual food in both those countries;

    rational criticism of the EU would be to say we need to change those in charge of the EU; crazy talk is getting rid of it altogether

  10. you again? fuck off of euronews! you don’t like the EU stop using their news network

    the scale to which borderless trade across the EU has helped SMEs is incredible; to say getting rid of the EU would help SMEs is like spitting on SMEs; and what political ideals are so bad? the ones about opening a business in 3 days which less than 100 euros? because that’s the only political ideal he mentioned the whole video;

    i told you before there’s rational criticism of the EU and than there’s

  11. The EU can’t admit that their insane over regulation of SME’s is destroying them ….. Growth will not come until we get rid of the EU and their utterly ridiculous philosophy. Most EU commissioners and meps have never had a proper job yet they decide carte Blanche what is good for business based on political ideals not economics. They will as always fail which means the hard working public will fail too unless we rid ourselves of these idiots.
