Top story: Scottish Councils could be on a collision course with the Government over plans to call a halt to all rural school closures in the next year. In other news: an elderly woman has died after her husband drove over her in a car park accident; Glasgow’s new transport museum is now just three weeks from opening its doors to the public and is set to become one of Scotland’s biggest visitor attractions; and in sport, Gregg Wylde reckons he’s going to have to win over new Rangers manager Ally McCoist in the same way he did with the now departed Walter Smith. A seven year old boy has suffered serious head injuries in a car crash in Angus. The boy was a rear seat passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa which collided with a tractor near Monikie shortly before 10 o’clock. In other news; Union leaders say lives could be lost if Government proposals to shake up the coastguard service go ahead. In sport; Dundee United manager Peter Houston says he’ll play an attacking game in order to knock out his Europa League opponents tomorrow night.
