  1. taxi drivers, truck drivers, and train drivers, can now work in robot factories, or robot science. It’s the future buddy, that’s why we’re not using horses and wagons to travel anymore..

  2. If you watched the video, they mentioned that the car had racked up over 170,000 miles on the open road without having a single accident. You can’t possibly drive that many miles on public streets without running into some traffic lights. Does that answer your question?

  3. If, or rather, when these are available to buy, PLEASE make the radar image available for viewing. If you’re not installing a monitor in the car, atleast leave a jack somewhere so that people can plug in their own monitor and see what’s going on around them. One of those radar things could be really usefull for drivers already.

  4. I’m asuming you think that terrorist will take controll of all the cars and make people crash. There’s an easy solution to that. Just leave out any kind of wireless transmission. Fine, leave the radio in, but don’t hook it up to the same system as the “driver”. This way, no terrorist could mess with the cars.

  5. how does it deal with stop lights i doubt the program easily sees the defference unless its very accurate

  6. I can just see the sad looks on Cops faces the day they can’t give tickets anymore.

  7. I want one. Still kinda worried that the hard drive might crash while Its driving.

  8. Why would you want to save competitive easily-distracted impatient alcoholics with anger management problems?

  9. Although the technology is promising,
there is another invention that solved this problem 100+ YEARS ago.
    Its called the TAXI.

Oh wait BMW already had a working car in 2008..

  11. This is just extraordinary…

I worry a lot about how some people on the road drive – alcohol, competitiveness, distractions, impatience and anger are all human factors in every car trip. This technology will hopefully eliminate that worry, and save a lot of pointless deaths.

  12. There will still be the automobile enthusiasts, clinging on for dear life to the joy of driving.

  13. i’m a little worried about this during winter driving :S will it be able to detect ice on the ground? oh boy…
