I would like to once again stress that it would be more than a worthy investment to take the vehicle that you’re considering buying to a professional that specializes in the vehicle that you’re looking to buy as this would be your best insurance against any issues you might find yourself stuck with after the sale. – Click below and Stay Dirty Visit me at EricTheCarGuy.com ericthecarguy.com Visit EricTheCarGuy Forum www.ericthecarguy.com Visit my Facebook Page: www.facebook.com – Stay dirty ETCG Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of this information, or improper use of this information. With the seatbelts, you should also be testing to see if the collision locking system and tensioner system on each seatbelt works. In australia, this is something that must be tested as a part of a roadworthy inspection to register the car for use on state roads. If it doesn’t work it must be replaced. I’m not sure if other countries have the same check or roadworthy inspections but it’s 2 minutes to check if your head is going to hit your windshield in a collision.
Meh that sucks, where i work i usualy put plastic sheets over the seat and wash my hands if there really dirty.
He traded it for an engine swap on a civic.
Fair enough then if it is his car, though I have seen him do it on 3 or 4 other occasions, all in different cars on other videos of his, are they all his cars?
And yes I was mad about someone dirtying up my vehicle. A 12 month old landcruiser in spotless condition that would have cost over $60,000 new, and some muppet thinks he has the right to treat it like a piece of crap (the grease stain is still partially there, forever imprinted in the drivers seat). To me, that is very rude.
Imagine a guy doing a 2 hour inspeciton on your car..then end up not buying it. FUCK!
i hope you didn’t pay more than 1500 for that car lol
By the way that is his car. You really don’t watch Eric’s videos much huh…. You seem to have a very negative attitude. YUCK! I hate everything about your rude comment and the damn caps lock. Also nobody cares about you and your “chokeslam” WOW! 11 people are really dumb for liking your rude nonsense. The car is dirty as hell anyways therefore no harm. You are mad because someone dirtied up your vehicle. Well that’s hos car and he didn’t do it! Rude people like you ruin it for all the others.
a-lot* not alot
while you are correcting him I’m correcting you.
Seller will probably have a nightmare after he goes thru a used car…
u have like the best series on this subject
He purchased the car, he can do whatever he pleases to it…
On some cars the dome lights turns off when you lock the doors. That’s how it is on my car.
I was looking to buy a VW Jetta, an MK4 Jetta to be exact. That Jetta is the year range of 1999 – 2005 or something like that. But anyways I wanted to know if anyone’s owned this car and how their experience was with it. Like did the car give them lots of problems or did the car run pretty well? Or even if you’ve owned an MK4 VW Golf. I’m sure you’d be great help.
All replies welcome! Thanks.
<3 Eric :)
I have a comment on the blower motor. I noticed it was positioned on “0″, personally i recommend it always is positioned on “1″ or above. I do this, to prevent “condensed water” from corrosing the blower motor, which may result in it not going to function. I’m not certain this ever will be an issue, although you may take notice of this.
how do you fix the dome light issue??
don’t forget window gaskets.
I’m going to be buying my very first car soon, and your videos have given me a better understanding of how to thoroughly check a used car before buying. Without your videos, I might have ended up buying a car that won’t last more than 6 months.
Equally important that it works, because fixing electrical problems is annoying.
Check out pisserschannel he has tons of rust repair videos.
Dear ETCG, I like your vids and find them very informative but there is one thing you are doing that ticks me off alot. TAKE OFF THOSE DAMN FILTHY GLOVES BEFORE YOU GO NITPICKING AROUND IN SOMEONES INTERIOR!!!
Ok I might be especially annoyed by this because I had to lend out my company vehicle this week and it was returned to me with grease/dirt all over the steering wheel and AC/radio controls and grease smeared into the drivers seat and now I am going to have to chokeslam someone on Monday
why would you want the lights on with out the key , just one more way to drain a battery.
