  1. Good video man. I do have a question for you. I brought a used ford falcon today and when driving home along the freeway i applied the brakes to discover there was a shudder back through the brake peddle and steering wheel, i believe it is because of the uneven surface of the rotors so i will be getting them machined flat. I will be taking the rotors off and putting them on my self. My question is, if i discover that there are relatively new brake pads will i still need to replace them?

  2. How did they stop? Or was it like the Flintstones, where they just used their feet..

  3. But wait from what I heard. If you do the job incorrect in the frount you get hit in the face with like 200 pounds in the back is worse

    Thx

  4. I don’t have a torque wrench… Can I still do the job without it? And do you need to bleed the brakes?

  5. A good tip i have learned about things rusting on your under carrage is to clean up everything when you wash your car… and re grease “Liquid Wrench/WD-40″ Everything once your done… I wash my car every week and i jack it up remove the tires and you would be suprised at how clean it can make your car when someone looks at it and says “Damn thats a CLEAN” car. Its more work but its a good reward when people notice.

  6. Great job to show newbies how easy it really is to change brakes. The only additional step I would’ve recommended is the use of brake cleaner to clean the rotor (even a new one) and parts to ensure that they are clean and don’t have brake caliper lube/grease…

  7. thanks for the video! I’m gonna do this for the first time in my life on MY rabbit haha. I’ll have my computer and this video with me every step of the way…. wish me luck!

  8. The automobile brake was not invented until 1895. Before this, someone had to be in the car at all times, driving in circles until passengers returned from their errands.

  9. Thank you for your video. As I was taking off my lug nuts I broke one of the bolts, and though it was an annoying and easy fix, I am having a terrible time putting in the new bolt. I think that I am going to have to break it again and start the fix again. Any suggestions? I drive a 2001 Honda Accord.

  10. Hi Ben, I have watched few video on your channel, very nice! Love it.I want to find a small hydraulic lifter, vertical shaft on two sides preferably, movable scissor type of below 80 inch wide, 110 /250 V doen’t matter, I want to install in my front yard parking slot between my 2 house, which only has 86 inches wide, but two side with wall of my hse and other two rooms, I want to do some mod. for my own 5 BMW on Sunday, any suggested products my email is raywcleung@gmail.com – I live in HK

  11. If you remove the master cylinder cover it will relieve the pressure in the system making compressing the caliper pistons easier.

  12. Hi Ben, how much should I expect to pay at my local dealership for break change (exactly what you did on your video)?

  13. Ben, I agree! I HATE doing drums. I wanted to add to how you compressed the plunger back into the caliper…..I use an old brake pad so the plunger stays flush. Im sure you already know this.

    Great vids

  14. Is it possible to replace the rotors with a larger sized rotor? if yes, would that improve braking performance? thanks!

  15. well if she doesn’t enjoy your farts that’s certainly not nice of you, mkay

  16. Which car do you guys feel would be the best purchase out of the three? In terms of reliability and the cheapest to maintain and such things. 2001-05 Honda Civic sedan, 2003-08 Toyota Corolla, or the 1998-02 Honda Accord sedan.

  17. uhoh okay…make that 4 times! i hope the next 5th one is when in bed with the g/f…..dutch oven ja? lol

  18. I farted 3 times in the watching of this video lmfao, now it poo tinky’s in here!!! lol

  19. What about when your on craigslist and a post specifies NO TIRE KICKERS! That’s when I walk away.

  20. Do you know how to fix electronic issues in a chevy impala? its an 02 model. If i have the cabin fan on before i start the car the security and cruise light comes on and i keep trying and it wont start.. if i shut the fan off the car starts. Another thing about that is the radio will keep cycling on and off if i dont open the door first then pull the key out of the ignition. Ah gm gotta love em

  21. I don’t know man. I change my oil enough and check all my fluids and stuff but I do let the car get dirty. I believe Eric does the same. I’m sure he takes care of his cars but he did say he never washes them.

  22. Dirty oil, dirty car = bad, clean car and fluids = good? I don’t think so. I prefer to go by service records and a thorough mechanical inspection. I’ve bought good pick up trucks that looked like worn out high mile beaters, that didn’t cost me a lot in repairs and gave several years of service. And I’ve had a couple of low miles one owner cream puffs that were money sucking lemons. Never trust a used car dealer, not only do they detail their cars, but they go out of their way to hide defects.

  23. After I watched BBC’s top gear where a forensic crew worked over used cars, I never want to buy a used car again. They found snot, buggers, spit, and evan worse, FECAL MATTER! YUK

  24. Here is a car buying guide that will save you trouble watching these videos.
#1 If oil is low, dont buy it. IT means owner don’t care about oil change.
#2 if any other fluid is low or out, don’t buy it, it means owner doesn’t care.
#3 if car is dirty inside or outside, this means buyer dont care about the car.

This car is a piece of garbage all around. There is everything wrong with this car and it is SCREAMING at you DO NOT BUY ME, I WILL FALL APPART.

    You have been told.

  25. #1 make sure you put gloves on when inspecting garbage such as this one. Keep your self away from diseases

  26. i’ve used a legacy to carry a replacement engine in the trunk. they are incredibly useful for the amount of cargo and awd, i use mine like its a 400$ truck.

  27. my dads audis battery was 19 years old when i replaced it last year we had no problems with it

  28. Jesus are all the Legacy owners dirt filthy? I mean when I bought mine it was GROSS. Used gum everywhere, branches, tons of mud inside, pencils, grime. Just gross. I own it now “obviously” and I ain’t lettin the car get that dirty again. I think the previous owner used it for work or something. definitely used it in the woods.

  29. this is one of the best car guys on youtube along with mighty car mods and scotty kilmer

  30. Eric, apparently these engines are known for the head gaskets breaking down and leaking. Can you pull the heads on these Subarus without pulling the engine?
