Over the past decade, Porsche has created a few unique vehicles to target a broad range of car buyers. The Boxster is aimed at the entry level sports car enthusiast while the Cayenne is aimed at those looking for a quick SUV. But the Panamera offers 911 performance with a usable back seat. The 2012 Porsche Panamera can range from 200 for the base model all the way to 3200 for the top of the line Turbo S model. The vehicle tested in this video is the base model Panamera 4 (AWD). It is powered by a lightweight and direct injected 3.6 liter V-6 engine that makes 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is the famous PDK twin-cutch 7-speed unit that shifts lighting quick. Fuel economy on the 2012 Porsche Panamera is 18 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway thanks in part to an auto start/stop system which shuts down the engine while the car is sitting idle. Sixty MPH flies by in 5.8 seconds and the Panamera 4 has a top speed of 159 MPH. The Panamera handles incredibly well thanks to the Porsche Traction Management system.
