A man’s been charged in connection with an alleged hit and run incident which claimed the life of a young Fife man. 20 year old Stephen McCann was struck by a car as he walked along the Leslie to Glenrothes road early on Saturday morning. He died at the scene. In other news; Crash investigators are still at the scene of a head-on lorry collision in Fife. The crash happened on the A914 south of the Forgan roundabout at around half past ten this morning. Both drivers are being treated in hospital in Dundee. Their injuries aren’t life threatening. And in sport; St Johnstone moved level on points with third-placed Hearts after a stunninng last minute win over Hibs in Edinburgh. A man’s appeared in court accused of culpable homicide after an alleged hit and run in Fife. Stephen McCann was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning after being struck by a car in the village of Leslie. Alistair Dick appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court charged with culpable homicide and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. In other news; A former Blairgowrie woman, cleared over the murder of her husband in the USA, could face a new “OJ Simpson” style prosecution. Joanna Findlay was convicted of attempted murder as well as felony handgun offences. Gary Trogdon died at the couple’s Maryland home in October 2010. Now Findlay could face a retrial as her husband’s family are set to file a “wrongful death” civil lawsuit. And in sport; Ross Ford will captain Scotland for the Six Nations with Kelly Brown having been ruled out of the Championship through injury. Meanwhile, Steve Shingler met up with the squad at their St Andrews training base this week despite a question mark still hanging over his eligibility to play for Scotland. A man accused of murdering a Perthshire pensioner is set for trial after a second court appearance. William Keane is alleged to have attacked 80 year old Jenny Methven with a blunt weapon at her home near Forteviot in February. She was found dead by her son with injuries to her head and body. In other news; A St Andrews University student caught a pigeon with his bare hands and ripped its head off, before telling onlookers he was going to eat it. Jonathon Leslie was later found with the decapitated bird in the footwell of his car after police caught him drink driving in the Fife town and in sport; Dundee United’s Gary Mackay-Steven says his future lies at Tannadice. Daniel Brackenbury was speeding when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a bridge on the road between Anstruther and St Andrews in December 2010.
