  2. Awe man, I remember going to the salvage yard, with my fiance, so much fun, pulling the parts you need, and getting them for cheap. We learned the hard-way to save though, because we had to pay $60, at the dealer, for one set of new tail light bulbs. We had some parts missing from the new used 94 Honda Accord we purchased, so when we finally went to the junkyard, we could have gotten a tail light bulb for just $10. We saved a lot of money getting the car back to its new condition.

Seeing this yard is like LKQ Auto salvage, Every week they get 70+ new cars and get rid of the cars that sit untouched, Its amazing, i picked up front windows for my car for $50 after tax vs goin and buying new witch would of cost me $169.99 + tax per window… Just remember you can never go there without to many tools! i fill my truck up with tools and the people who work there are so nice i ca walk in if i need more tools walk out and get them ad no 2nd charge!

  6. i wish some of the yards would sell the harder to find cars instead of crushing them, i offered to buy one, i straight up said i dont need no title and when i am done you will get it back…no dice really irritated me as my celica seems harder to find parts for then a fricken model A….

  7. I would have ripped those SHO turbos immediately. The entire system, actually. That’d be great to have, methinks.

  9. Being that we’re in the Detroit area, the big three are over-represented since all junkyards reflect local buying habits. Out in California you see lots of Japanese and German, much less domestic.

  10. One of the luxuries of living in Detroit. Pretty much all of our yards are like this. Parts Galore changed the game and they’re expanding because of it.

  12. You sure could, they’re a bit rare in the yards because turbos have normally been used in performance and high-end cars – stuff that doesn’t make it into junkyards in large numbers. Now that turbos are being put into everything you can expect that to change.

    This yard has a heavy truck section and I was slobbering all over the Garrett turbos on the Detroit Diesel S60 engines. Sooo sweet. Without a project in mind though I’m not going to drop $150 for a shelf piece.

  14. Your best bet for those cars is to hunt online. They have got such a reputation and desire that they don’t end up in salvage yards very often any more. Some one buys them and just sits on them. Either for resale, builders or to part out.

  15. The 6 had problems with the 2nd water pump coming apart. It was junk to start with, hence needing 2 water pumps. I am working on a sho v8 right now. they have problems with the valves and seats. there a junk engine also.
