very good video thanks, but my car is overheating and the fan is good and no every time I disconet the ECT wire sensor the fan turns on but if I conected back the fan turns off even when is hot. There is no leaks in the cooland system, for sure the termostat need to be replace. is there any posible option with the ECT sensor???

Assuming since it is a problem dealing with heat, would it be okay or better if it is relatively cold outside?
Could very well be warped head(s)… see if it’s still under warranty from your mechanic and get the heads looked at by a machine shop.
I recommend starting with a new mechanic.
MY CAR KEEPS LOSING COOLANT.. IT HAS BLOWN A GASKET 3 TIMES. THE MECHANIC FIXES IT AND EXACTLY ONE YEAR LATER IT DOES THE SAME THING… WHAT DO I DO?

im almost adicted to yor site. advice: Check the thermostat real parts funtion. the big spring does not get weak when is hot and then opens the valve. Well not correct! Now you have a assigment…glad to see it posted. Ed AT for 35yrs pd.correct me if im wrong.
Actually,Eric briefly mentioned what type of system it is(but not how it’s to be treated differently).Fact is:The Cap is under pressure(but it’s a safety cap that you can still open when it’s hot without getting burned),and there are two hoses going into the bottle.I once saw coolant gurgeling back into the bottle when I opened it under pressure.I think it’s a VW style system (since it’s a Skoda,which is a brand owned by the VW corp),but I don’t exactly know the differences to the other systems.
Then typically that overflow tank is simply an extension of the radiator. For service purposes, treat it as a radiator cap.

Hi eric,i drive a ’06 subaru impreza. i filled up my radiator n overflow tank full(thats the first thing i did in the morning) turned the engine on n let it idle for abt 20-25min till the fan start to kick in. I touched the lower radiator hose and it got hot. Drove the car on the freeway(with ac on) n i did abt 65mph for abt 25min and when i got back to my car lot, the temperature went above and almost to the 3/4 mark. Left it for idle for 10min and the temp stayed there.
