Mario Andretti Racing review. Classic Game Room reviews MARIO ANDRETTI RACING for Sega Genesis from EA Sports released in 1994. Drive one of three classes of vehicles, Sprint cars, stock cars and Indy cars on a variety of tracks. Mario Andretti Racing is not the most exciting driving game on the Sega Genesis but it has some cool features like a video rewind, split screen showing race information and multiple camera perspectives that were ahead of the time in 1994. CGR Mario Andretti Racing video review features Mario Andretti Racing gameplay recorded from the Sega Genesis 16-bit awesome power machine! Go easy on the equipment!

  2. Ford may have more WRC wins than Subaru, but Ford has been in WRC for almost twice as long as Subaru. That is why Subaru is known for rally.

  3. the wrc fiesta (in the right hands [i.e. Mikko Hirvonen]) is UNBELIEVABLY good on all sufaces, especially snow.

  4. Ken block drives a subaru, subaru leads him to many victories and gymkhana. Ken block switches to ford, first snow event, it cant even handle. Ken Block, a subaru is waiting for you.

  5. this guy looks like a phedophile, the other guy doesnt know where the camera is. stupid idiots!

  6. no tree’s were hurt in the making of this……what…oh really…… uhhuh nevermind

  7. What’s Ford got to do with it? The car is built by Olsbergs MSE.

His WRC car is built by M-Sport, so despite also having a Ford badge, there won’t be any problems with it – except Block has only had 1 day in the car and that was on a snowy track. Not the best practice for Mexico in 2 weeks time. He’ll do well just to finish; but his failings won’t be M-Sport or Fords fault.

M-Sport also build an S2000 Fiesta which looks promising, but it’s not a competitive “open class” car – hence Ols. MSE.

  8. I love it.

    World Rally Championship Series:

    Manufacturer rally wins

    First Place: Ford with 74
    Fifth Place: Subaru with 47

    Manufacturer championships

Fourth Place includes, Toyota, Ford, Subaru, and Fiat with 3 wins.

    Ford for the Win!

  9. hahahahahaha Block’s suspension gave out…That’s Ford for ya!You should’ve stayed with Subaru…..
    Subaru for life!FTW

  10. I still think Norway is the best snow stage in all of rallying. Big snow banks, just an amazing rally. And driving a Viper on Laguna Seca! Damn I want to do that some day.

  11. The game manual helps a lot with learning how to drive the sprint cars. They are very drivable once you learn how the game wants you to drive them.

  12. i loved this game….the 1st game to feature dirt sprint cars that im aware of…you just need to learn to counter steer!

  13. Mark! read this for the future depends on it! they are not Formula One cars. Mario Andretti was driving in the CART IndyCar World Series in 1992, when this game was released, plus it clearly states Indy in the game menu lol

  14. i know it’s 3 months later but at first when i heard the reference on Stuart Little i thought it was “Mario and Dretti” LOL i hope i am not the only one

  15. I have the Sega Saturn version of this game, this one has better graphics lol.

  16. I have this game and think it’s pretty good. the funny thing is, that even though I’m from the UK,my version is the North American (Genesis, rather than Mega Drive) copy. Still works, though.

  17. Hi, underaged spirit of /v/!
If you’re going to >imply, remember that you can’t do it outside of there.
    Also, check your grammar.

  18. Indy car, not f1 car. God these americans don’t even know their own sport

  19. There may have not been built-in online multiplayer, but there was always x-band

  20. Oh man, this looks like ass compared to the PC version, though that isn’t saying much because it wasn’t very good either.

  21. Around this time I was losing interest in the Genesis and had started getting into PC games. My favorite racing sim of all time was a NASCAR game on the PC which was based on the 1994 season. It’s better than Gran Turismo IMO.
To think this Andretti game came out for the Genesis around the same time as the PC NASCAR game.. ouch. I got out at the right time.

  22. Just wanna say you’re my favorite reviewer. I prefer your reviews over ign, gamespot and all the others. Keep up the good work.

  23. Love old school game reviews, brings back memories of the 80′s and 90′s and is mainly the games i play most these days
