I think what people have to understand about this debacle is the player’s aspect. Many of them can’t meet the hours of a part time job with playing college football. Sooner or later when they need cash at the most imminent times, they will jump on benefits like Nevin offered them. If the NCAA found a way to let universities somehow pay them to meet the needs of everyday life, than i dont think many of them will jump at benefits knowing the consequences. at least in theory.
Death penalty, ha! I wish. The NCAA just pussies out and maybe suspends a player for a game cuz it makes less money without Miami. Corrupt fuckin system the BCS is.

To stop the players from taking money from boosters I think if you imposed a sentence like suspension on player that would carry into NFL if the player tried to enter into the draft and make the program either give up scholarships and ban from national tv exposure with money being repayed(tv money, bowl money, etc.) from the years of infractions. This would be a modern death penalty.

i am taking a poo while watching this.
The players should be given a stake in the money they make. High profile programs make huge amounts of money based on the athletic talents of the athletes. A college education is not as valuable as it once was and the schools make more money than ever before so the players should get a cut, some sort of percentage, and I think they would be less inclined to go crazy. Then the NCAA wouldn’t have to police as much. This is a complex problem in college sports.
there really isnt much you can do unless your going to spy on every single player and coach. as far as a punishment, you cant punish the current players, becuase it has nothing to do with them. i guess they could take away any records from the years that this occured
