hello. is it possible to “lock” video if i want to keep it? or if i have got something what i want to keep i need to stop my car plug it into pc and export video? how can i save it during short break?
Avoid MJPEG cameras and anything with a 1280×960 resolution.
what are the things you would avoid when buying? what def is considered upscaled?

I bought one of these thanks to our review. It seems to work well, except I cannot delete any of the clips I’ve recorded. Computer says SDCard is Locked. Are you able to?

Dont know why you always get that crackling sound when the camera is recording when your on the road, Anyone ?.
Propably not, if you don’t need both videos u can always switch one camera off and record from just one of them or…. use VideoPad or VirtualDub freeware software to crop video after export, it’s really easy

Rather than export from both camera videos together as one wide video (1280×480), can you export the video individual from each of the two cameras? Will this then be a 640×480 resolution video clip?

Am i the only person interested in one of these that mounts discretely so you can just leave it in your car without attracting the attention of thieves? This thing, and most others can be spotted by a blindman on a galloping horse! The only one i’ve seen so far is the rearview mirror mounting one which was very expensive and the tiny Roadhawk one, which although is window mounting it is so small you can get away with it, but again is prohibitively expensive. Any ideas anyone??

I bought this dash cam and the resolution quality is not good even for stand definition, it is so bad that you will not be able to capture the license plates even when they are right in front of your car, the camera resolution is just terrible. The manufacturer website says battery will last 3 hours but in fact while recording only lasts 1hr 15min MAX! Overall it’s okay but the resolution is not even 640×480 it that were true it would have no problem reading license plates.X4000 HD is better.
The resolution on the iphone 4S blows away this 640×480 dash cam that can’t even capture clearly any license plates, it’s just too blurry. And the battery mode during recording only lasts 1 hour and 10 min. This cam should have HD like the X4000 does with dual front facing cameras.
Shame about the GPS draining the battery and also not setting the time via the GPS and saving all the other settings in flash or other nvram so you don’t have to reset anything if the battery does die.
As for the dual camera, I think the idea there is as you say for insurance purposes. It can show that you as the driver aren’t asleep or drunk or distracted by a phone or gadget, it can show the idiot who rear-ended or sideswiped you, etc.
