@Dimitris Varsos No not exactly. the commentator was wrong by saying that. this Nissan had ground effect tunnels dug beneath the car ( you can see them towards the rear of the undertray as the car flips). these tunnels are there to accelerate the airflow under the car which creates huge downforce… when the car is moving forwards! when going backwards, the opposite will happen. if the car had a true flat bottom like todays cars, this type of accident would be less likely.

The second a car like that (even an F1 car) goes sideways the air sweeps underneath the car. The car basically turns into an airplane wing so it just takes off into the air.
