I have loved this music for years. Following Tony Scott’s death, I revisited this ad, the music is an orchestral score made specifically for the advert, by a company called Candle of London. Don’t know who the composer was, guess you could e-mail; them. Cheers.!

Rest in peace Tony!
You made some cracking films.
Films that i have enjoyed for over the last 25 years, and i will continue to enjoy for the next 25.

ok it’s an advert for a 900, but the 9000 appears twice (overhead shot at around 0:45 and later (the exhaust) and it does appear he enters as if the car is RHD so some shots appear to have been inverted… there is similar ad which mainly features the 9000 but the 900 still appears
the car is a 1985 saab 900 (carb model) but there are two bits – 45 seconds in you have a 9000 (a model that was not yet for sale in the UK) and later as the car and Viggen set off for the last bit the exhaust at 1:28 is a 9000 item…..the coolest is at 0:36 when he winds up the windows manually…..
This is the first time I’m seeing this ad. Man! Being a ‘Top Gun’ long-time fan, I recognize all the angles! It’s all here! The way the plane is shot! The front end-sideways shot of the pilot in the cockpit, the shot of the exhaust as the afterburner kicks in, the shot of the plane’s wheels starting to move off-screen – everything Top Gun has is here since this is where Top Gun started! R.I.P. Mr. Scott!
So Amazingly Cool….
And R.I.P. Saab too.
Interesting how at 0.45 as the 900 emerges, the shot from above suddenly shows a 9000…

Anthony Quayle.
Who did the voice-over for this? It’s a very recognisable British actor but I can’t think who it is.
