  1. Well done C&D and Jethro; excellent filming and especially sound. Note to all budding car video makers: the last 2 min are how you blend in music with a car video – in the background, with the car’s sound mixed in front!

  2. They [i.e., English-only speakers] can’t pronounce Scuderia properly either.

    It’s not “Scoo-der-rea” it’s Scoo-der-ee-aa.

  3. I hate you so much for being able to drive that car on that road. Such an awesome experience.

  4. If you go to fastestlaps do com use the compare cars feature you will see that the 2 cars have very similar times but the end of the day (for the normal driver) these differences are irrelevant, both cars are plenty fast enough.

Watch any video of the 458 and a common theme is that all reviewers most lasting impression is just how rewarding and involving driving the car is to drive. This car is the whole package, incredible sound, beautifully finished and even a comfortable daily driver.

  5. and the ZR1 is faster around every other racetrack on earth lol, and willow springs? you sure about that? That’s a very “wide-open” track, i’m sure their were different drivers in the zr1 and ferrari, and i’m sure weather must’ve played a big role in that (different days) as well as how the Zr1 was optioned….it’s a totally different story on every other track i’ve looked into though. Laguna seca, homestead, the ring (all tracks there) sebring, VIR, summit point, daytona “road course” etc.

  6. This car was faster round Willow Springs, Tsukuba and than a ZR1, and even the top gear track. Not bad for a NA car with 100BHP less than a ZR1.

The 458 is exquisite and a real drivers car if world Rally champion Jason Plato named it the best car he has ever driven (and as Presenter of 5th gear he has driven them all), then that is good enough for me. The ZR1 is very fast but its also crude an unrefined, thats why you will see more 458′s in europe than ZR1s even though they are twice the price

  7. You must have some big balls to drive a Ferrari like that, with esp off, in this kind of roads.

  8. Hey, every car company has done something underhanded and cheap. But I agree with you, the Ford GT, Viper, and Corvette are completely different from Euorpean supercars in everything but performance.

  9. I don’t like GM. They’re a cheap, underhanded company. I do like the corvette though, and the Z06/Zr1 will embarrass a 458 around a road course. Just sayin’.

You get what you pay for in terms of “luxury” or whatever, which is “not much”, but then again, the Vette isn’t some half-breed leather-clad luxury “supercar”, it’s built for raw performance, like the Viper is, and like the Ford GT was. These cars are working class heros. Totally different mentality from that of the European market.

  10. Greatest road in the world until you meet something coming the other way :L

  11. It’s called a inferiority complex that comes as standard with every Corvette you buy…
