Another reason for selling seems to be; Problems they do not want to deal with.
Sometimes the car has been run into the ground.
Other times the car had a problem that is going to be difficult and/or expensive to repair.

It also reflects the pride of owner ship, tires are one of the most important component of your car. Tires are the first thing you should invest in car. Having bad tires is like wearing a suit without shoes, doesn’t matter how expensive your suit is.
They are responsible for how your car behave with the road! Someone who doesn’t care about how their car drives just isn’t worth it, you’ll have all the pain and hardship if you buy a car from someone like that.

I was looking to buy a VW Jetta, an MK4 Jetta to be exact. That Jetta is the year range of 1999 – 2005 or something like that. But anyways I wanted to know if anyone’s owned this car and how their experience was with it. Like did the car give them lots of problems or did the car run pretty well? Or even if you’ve owned an MK4 VW Golf. I’m sure you’d be great help.

Eric–great attention to detail–thanks soooo much. You almost need a clipboard and checklist to do all these things and some sellers would not have a lot of patience if you nickel and dime them to death on a sale. Just the same–in 1968 I bought a first car from a well known area franchise dealership–a ‘ 64 Impala–beautiful looking car. $1,500. One tire had multiple plugs in it. Among other things–dealers really cleaned up on the public in those times on used car sales, no doubt.
Eric.. did I do good??? I bought a 99 honda civic dx sedan with 64,000 miles on it for $2300.. It runs good… and I acutally got the price down to 2300$ from $2700 because I watched your videos and before I bought the car I took off exhaust manfifold heatshield and whady know.. the exhaust manifold had a hairline crack at 1st O2 sensor and going up… I saved $400 on my car because I watched your videos and knew to look for that crack…

It’s incredible, part one and you’ve uncovered a lot of things that were wrong on my car (now resolved) .
day 1 I tore into the wiper cowl and removed all tree shit, also discovered two rear mismatched tyres and one with a bulge! The fronts were either poorly balanced or cupped from worn shocks, haven’t figured out yet. Put them on the back and bought 2 quality fronts. You’re right, tyres make all the difference.
Now I’ve got 4 good tyres and a 9 year old spare which isn’t optimal but hey.
