  1. Man that’s great info… My question is: can you achieve the same results with a propane torch?

  2. Hi Eric!

  3. Usually the bolt expands less than whatever it’s in. I just use a small propane torch and it works great.

  4. Eric you’re awesome man. Whenever I look something up on youtube that’s car related / handywork related and I see that you’ve done a video on it I will always watch it because you’re explanations of everything are just so much more clear and useful than anyone else’s

  5. IMHO, i would have dumped the lead pipe and gone all new, BUT when doing a ham N eggs job i agree, Kudos on the welding tip heating tutorial. next one should be how to do it with a cutting tip. as most shops use . great vids

  6. Tell your brother to buck up the bucks for a new intermediate pipe, after all he not paying for the labor. (is he?) Or is he a “slow payer”

  7. Never use rubber or latex gloves when cutting or welding. My kid said he should know that !

  8. Wow – would you use a torch when you could use an induction wrench that would be safer, precise and more efficient? Check out the MINI-DUCTOR II here on YouTube under “TheInductor” or on the web at theinductorDOTcom!

  9. Also when you crank the acetylene open and light it up, turn the acetylene up enough to where the black smoke burns off. That burns off all of the old acetylene and gives you a nice neutral flame. Also, turn the oxygen up to where the flame just lands on top of the cone coming from the tip.

  10. haha be a man even if you are a woman. I use that expression all the time!! Most women don`t like it thought. You have a great sense of humor man!

  11. Cut costs on vehicles insurance, and put a couple of hundred or so right back into your pocket. Have a look at this website for a simple cost search to see what you could save.

  13. @ericthecarguy Is it ok to heat up caliper pins to remove the bolt enabling me to change my brake pads? I’m just wondering more about what things on a car you might damage if you heat it up to red hot. Maybe things that have brakefluid or powersteering fluids in them?

  14. Thanks Eric. Can I use heat on an axle nut? I’ve gone the breaker bar and extension. My rather large girth was of no effect.
    Thanks in advance.
