Has anybody found out anything more about the availability of this product? The web site is still not functional.
I think the ‘blue” underlying coat is an enamel-like paint substance that would “fill” those pitted areas. My guess is that it is a bit more viscous than normal paint and would even out those pitted areas. Then the “Chrome” goes on smooth afterwards.
Pretty amazing. The chrome in a can paint I used in the 80′s for my wheels sucked ass. But this stuff is pretty amazing.

This process has been around for many years. The primary mirror (back) coatings of yesteryear was silver nitrate. I suspect this is the same derivative. This is faux chrome. If this is the same coating of “chrome” rims, it will blister in time and in winter climates, even more so. I see a rampant use of “chroming” everything conceivable. DIY’rs will now convert their vehicles to a celebrities excess of absurdity.

i found a similar product to this called spectrachrome- I got some information from them and i’m going to check out their training class next week..

Its a scam.They are just rinsing off the gray paint to show the chrome
When you chrome something pitted you can’t usually sand enough away to make it smooth. If it isn’t perfectly smooth it won’t be shiny. Pits have to be filled with braze metal (brass or bronze alloy) or some other type of metal filler that the chemicals won’t eat out and the copper/nickel/chrome plating will adhere to. All three are typically used in traditional chrome plating, in layers, with copper first.
You can get a powder coating that is very close to chrome… appears like chrome that is in need of a bit of elbow grease to be perfect.
I don’t understand why somebody couldn’t get that metal airplane-looking metal thingie rechromed. I understand it’s pitted but that be sanded and erased away; is there some chemical process that prohibits something from being chromed again if it was already chromed once before?
The million dollar question that I and everybody else I’m sure has……”how does it hold up?”.
I cannot believe that the web site is worthless. I wonder if Jay, if he knew this, would be willing to lean on somebody to get it up and running?
It appears as though it doesn’t get into the air like paint does so I’m guessing you don’t have to cover anything else in the garage you don’t want residual paint on. Pretty cool, except from others comments, the website doesn’t respond. Oh well. KG
Website hasn’t been touched since 2010. I emailed them a week ago and have had no response. There is a similar company offering a system and I emailed them too; no response. Why isn’t some one offering this state side? I am ready to invest.
