Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Roadster – Road Test with Great Sound

www.galpinpremier.com This is the new 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage “S” Roadster. This new “S” model incorporates many new performance enhancements to the already capable Vantage. The most unique addition is the SEVEN speed “automated manual shift” paddles behind the steering wheel. It took some getting used to, but after some practice I learned to really enjoy the paddle shift, though I would still prefer a manual transmission. This car proved to be all about balance. The 4.7L V8 engine puts out 430 hp and 361 lbs. ft. of torque, not big numbers for cars at this price range (about 5000), but the chassis on this car is so good that every bit of the horsepower is maximized. Then, there’s the sound this car makes. This just might be one of the best sounding V8 engine roar on the planet. Special thanks to James Smith for the car to car and jib arm shots. Also, thanks to Eric Matuschek for letting me chase him and his sport bike up the canyon.

  1. There is a fastidious road test of the V8 Vantage S here:

  2. I’m prefer basically Porsche carrera or Audi R8 with more efficacity , technology and fiability.

  4. Thanks for taking a moment to share some good words…people like you, who appreciate these vehicles as much as I do, are the reason I feel compelled to keep doing these!

  5. Fantastic review mate, love the car, the sound is stunning and the looks even better, well done.

  6. Thank you for your great contribution. You certainly weren’t offensive at all.

  7. I found that in full auto mode, it had a small delay between gears on up shifts. The trick for sporty use of the paddles is to treat gear changes like a manual..breathe of the gas, hit the paddle and bury your foot back in the gas. Besides, the blip on the downshift is flat awesome. But for me, give me a proper manual!
