This is a great video and it helped me change the Intake Manifold on my 2003 Mustang Gt there aren’t as many part on a mustang as on the Lincoln but its like 98% the same. Thanks!
Continuation of my post below: More tips: Be careful what you use to remove old gasket material and debris from mating surfaces. Scratches can cause problems. The fuel rail and injectors aren’t as intimidating as they look, in case you’ve never worked on injectors before. Just make sure they’re seated properly when you put ‘em back in. Install all 8 injectors in the fuel rail first, then set the rail in place and push each injector into its seat. You can feel each injector “pop” back in place.
I replaced the intake manifold on my 4.6 liter with a Dorman model ordered through Amazon. It had a hair line crack slowly leaking coolant where the heater hose connects to the back of the manifold. If you’ve worked on cars at all, you can do this. A few pointers: Take pictures beforehand of the configuration of hoses and harnesses. Buy and replace injector O rings (two on each injector). Put every bolt and part you remove in separate plastic baggies with a note explaining what it belongs to.
Hey do you have any advice about replacing the valve cover gaskets on a 4.6L 1997 Thunderbird? I’m trying to get the driver’s side valve cover off but clearance is almost nonexistent in the back because of the brake booster and the mounts on the intake manifold. Do you have any advice for getting this cover off? Thanks!
I hope you can make a video as how to remove the upper intake manifold slowly in a step by step fashion so that people will and can know how to remove the upper 3 spark plugs on a Hyundai Sonata 2004 V6 2.7L sooner or later.

Even though the car has low miles, it is still almost 13 years old, so I would keep an eye on the intake. Just keep a close eye on it and if you see any sign of coolant leaking, or any cracks developing, go ahead and replace it at that time. It also wouldn’t hurt to do the repair as preventative maintenance, that way you wouldn’t have to worry about it failing in the future.
My 2000 Grand Marquis has 65,800 miles (approx) on it and runs great.. When should I have to worry about the intake manifold?

my 2001 ford f150′s manifold just broke and im leaking coolent all over. the dealership is trying to charge me 2500+ to fix it. i looked on the site and could not find one for my truck. any ideas? thanks

Near the end of this video at 14:35 he has the manifold off and is checking it out and points to the “heater passage” at the firewall end of the manifold and says that’s a common place for cracks to form and coolant leaks. That’s the problem I have. There’s a hairline crack and coolant is ozing out and filling up the number 4 spark plug well causing a misfire. I wonder if JB Weld would fix the leak? Probably not but its worth a try. I think I can do a manifold replacement after watching this.

Your mustang is almost an identical procedure,, there may be some very minor differences but for the most part, you can follow the instructions on this video for your car.
Do you have one for a mustang gt 02 or is it the same process since Lincoln crown Victoria carry that same motor like the mustang if u do have a video please let,me know and.thank you appreciate the video of how to unistall a manifold new thing i learn today
Thanks so much for making this video..I have a 98 mustang that needed a new one and was not real sure I wanted to tackle it but this one is very close to what I needed..you did a great job putting it together..question after I finished it started but it sounds like its running on only 4 plugs lol..I dont have the separate coil packs just plug wires..and I used the old O rings but they looked good.when I take off it has lost alot of power any idea on what I didnt do right lol..Thanks
