  1. By any chance, are you guys going to test drive the new XFR-S when it comes out?

  2. Preetham, I may be mistaken, but I think the GT2, and Turbo have been tested in earlier Lightning Lap events. CD’s been doing this for a few years now. check the website or magazine for complete stats on the other Porsche models tested.

  3. When i end up with that kind of money, i will buy a 458, LFA and a Zonda. :) ..and a 911 as a daily driver.

  4. I like the LFA, but for 380K, you can build an untouchable 458. You’d have spare change even springing for the gold lined engine bay. Both engines are screamers, though.

  5. I totally see your point. Hopefully one day when/if I do have that kind of money, if $380k is easily spent, I would buy a ZR1 and 458 or just step up in price to an Agera R or Hennessey Venom.

  6. Why the Carerra S, what about the Turbo S, GT2 RS or the GT3? i would have liked to see a Porsche up against that 458 in the LL5.

  7. It is always hard to understand. But once you have the kind of money to spend on a 380K car it will be clear.

  10. I know Ferraris are always followed by factory engineers to setup the car for every occasion (as every high end manufacturer should do, in my opinion) but private owned cars need to have particular insurance to be driven and tested by the press.
    Every car is tested at its limits:magazines like EVO always explain that they have insanely high insurances for cars they source via private owners.
    That said, the 458 is still a ludicrously composed chassis, and it deserves the highest ratings.

  11. I have never understood the LFA. $380k for something that is slower, heavier, less attractive and less exciting than the 458. I would rather have a GT500 & ZL1 & a cool $20,000 in cash for the price difference.

  17. So according to this chart you must have a Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec or above to be future proof to run away from the Police. And I just bought a BRZ….

Can’t wait for next year’s lightning lap… Hopefully you guys will include the revised Nissan GT-R, the C7 Corvette, the new Viper GTS, among others… seeing the Mustang Boss 302 in this lineup would have been a good comparo against the SS 1LE Camaro, and maybe next time an M3 instead of the heavier M5 and M6? Just my thoughts…

  19. Word on the street is that it is a bit more than that. Are you assuming that the other cars tested were not aligned, tire pressures were off, etc. Besides the LFA they were testing practically brand new cars.

  20. It’s not that they don’t care enough, Ferrari just cares too much. Tuning the car for the track so to inflate the numbers so the Ferrari appears faster than it really is? The whole point of the test is to test FACTORY cars with no modifications or tuning.

  21. It’s funny when you see a FEATURED review of the BRZ/FRS competing with other cars in its price range… they always say the subaru/toyota is the best of the affordable sports cars. LOL
    YET, when you see reviews like this, the subtle yet pronounced truth comes out that the genesis coupe (slightly more expensive but still VERY affordable) is way faster.
    But since they don’t come out and say it, people easily miss it.
