GM Pass Key II Malfunctions: Bypassing VATS System

Your car won’t start? SECURITY light steady lit or flashing? More then likely it is the Vehicle Anti Theft System (VATS) at fault. Over time the resister pellet imbedded in your car key wears out from years of inserting and removing from the ignition lock cylinder. Here is a cheap way to bypass it, so you can get back on the road.

  1. جامده جدااااااااااااااااااااااااااااااا والله

  2. اية الحلااااااااااااااااوة دى عاملة كام دى يا عم الحج

  3. If they weren’t expected to mix with full sized cars it should work fine. In the event of a power system failure it might just fall over like a drunk person lol

  4. something neat and new.. 2 things:
    1. If the vehicle could go a top speed of 80mph due to highway traveling
    2. dont think your going anywhere during winter…

  5. its supposed to be affordable if youve seen some other videos. i dont know how expensive “affordable” is but i would guess about 5-10 grand. all it is, is a two person vehicularized segway if you ask me.

  6. I still have a few questions. How do you light up the tires and peel out at a stop light? How do you do a Jim Rockford? (Peel out going backwards and then crank the steering wheel to do a sliding 180) and how are you able to maneuver in the snow aroung a tight corner by holdholding and releasing on the emergency brake?

  7. What happens if the gps satellite goes down, or the network is interrupted. How does it go up and down hills or stop fast if a human walks out in front of it. What about space for normal stuff you carry to work and school like laptop, bag or clothes for dry cleaning. Don’t get me wrong this is fantastic and I can’t wait to own one, but I think it’s several years away from production. :) nice upload though thanks!

  8. My sister-inlaw 98 pink deville security anti-theft did this used an old tv to get the resister out of thanks man if u ever need anything in st.louis look me up

  9. hey YOSHICLAN i just say thanks a lot !!!, i save a couple hundred dollars with your help, this works for me on the on the very first time i try, and now i am on may to the beer store, MUCHAS GRACIAS, SEñOR.

  10. Well if the security light stays out there may not be an issue with your anti theft. Your starter motor might be gone or the park/neutral safety switch might be at fault. I would start with that first then if that gets you nowhere take a dive into the theft system by starting off with turning the key on then off and wait 3-5 minutes. If that doesn’t work you can by-pass the theft system the way I did in the video… And if that doesn’t work… Contact me, Ill try and help you out the best I can!

  11. Had to stay in my 2000 Impala for a while last night so I just left the key in the “on” position. The security light was on but I didn’t pay attention to it. Then the car wouldn’t start, but the security light was no longer on. Left it for the night and it still won’t turn on today. What do you think I should do?

  12. I did that for my 96 caprice, I used an adjustable resistor to get the right reading. It didn’t fix my intermittent starter shut down problem (I had to disable a faulty relay in the module somewhere, dont remember…) but I left this wire thingy on so that the key pellet won’t cause problems in the future. Simple and cheap fix that actually works.

  13. You were totaly right. The VATS is not my problem. I’m not getting a sparkle, even though I have checked the cables and fuses. What’s your opinion?

  14. Yours due to the fact your car is nearly a decade newer then mine, your conduit wire that comes from the steering column to the module may be black, but the style of the conduit is still the same and still contains two white wires inside.

  15. If the starter engages and you can hear your fuel pump running for at least 3-5 seconds there may not be any issue with the anti-theft. I personally would look at the ignition components first then if that doesn’t get you anywhere then check with the anti-theft. With GM vehicles if the anti-theft goes bad or the module disables the car due to a wrong key being inserted into the lock cylinder, the anti-theft system will disable the starter, fuel pump and fuel injectors.

  16. In my specific case, the security light did blink. However, it doesnt blink anymore. I can actually hear the car’s starter, and sometimes even some gas reaches the engine, however there is no spark. None of my remote keyless controls are recognized by the car either. I will try to give this procedure a shot. What do you think?

  17. Its straight forward, but if you run into problems feel free to contact me.

  18. Im trying this tomorrow on a 1995 Deville concours. I hope it works. You make it look easy!

  19. Thank you so much! This worked for me the first try! And I’m a girl so that’s extra surprising lol. Now I’ll make it to the beer store on time!! :D

  20. by the way bro, you are naturally funny, you should try to make a comedy video , give it a shot!!

  21. this is such a money pit thing to do to people GM should get thrown in court for this crap

  22. How would I find the resistance value to use if my key doesn’t have a resistor chip? Did I miss this in the video?

  23. everything in and out is brand new and ran right, but it continues to not start, ive checked the relays and the grounds but nothing seems to help it

  24. ok i have a 94 firebird trans am, just bought a brand new motor and a wiring harness for the whole car, everythang is ran right, and it still wont start….i have no idea what the hell is wrong with it

  25. If you have any ideas man let me know.. lights on, radio on, security light comes on but then it comes on.. its weird. i don’t know what to do.. i wanna try the bypass thing but not sure.

  26. red nick bob villa, haha.. this guy has common sense. sense enough to reach all types of audiences.. dudes good.. i hope i can figure out my 1998 oldsmobile intrigue. the security light comes off but it comes back on .. it don’t turn over at all. i thought it was the starter.. took it to autozone, got it tested and they said it passed but it looked funny, or something.. dude didn’t know much.. i had this security thing in the back of my mind and it starts all over again.

  27. Good video but not quite what I am looking for. The chipped keys to a 2000 Ford excursion where lost in a barn fire last night, we managed to retrieve one of the keys from the ruble however the chip is fried so we have no way to get a new key. If any one can tell me how to remove or bypass the system without a chip please let me know, you may save us thousands from an already $100,000 loss.
