www.autobytel.com The 2013 Porsche Boxster S marks the 3rd generation for this mid-engine roadster. This little convertible sports car not only looks great, but it also performs better than anything else in the class. When most car companies launch a new model they pick some posh location. Porsche decided to show off the new 2013 Boxster S by introducing the roadster at the Barber Motorsports Park where journalists would have the opportunity to test the car on both the track and the autocross course. The base price for the new Boxster S starts at 900. The Porsche Boxster has a mid-engine design meaning the motor sits somewhere between the front and rear axels. In this case the engine is right behind the drive. This allows for favorable weight distribution and more traction to the rear tires resulting in a better performing automobile. The 2013 Porsche Boxster base model is powered by a 2.7 liter 6-cylinder engine. The S model tested here has a larger displacement engine at 3.4 liters. This results in more power with the 2013 Boxster S making 315 horsepower and 266 lb-ft. f torque. This may not sound like much but the Boxster S is a very light weight car at just under 3000 lbs. Transmission choices come down to a 6-speed manual or high-tech PDK 7-speed automatic. Performance figures are 0-60 MPH in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 172 MPH. At the end of the day the Boxster is still a convertible and for this 2013 model Porsche made great strides to improve the automatic …

a honda civic with turbo does 4 sec 0-60 who cares is still a civic
370z a good car but the porsche is a legend you pay for that.
0-60 in 4.8 sec for 75k?….a 370z does that for 40k
malditos comparadores de nissan gt-r. eu adoro o gt-r mas os caras usam eles o p comparar tudo tchê! porsche é porsche.
Porsche makes some of the best all around sports cars…
Wow, throughout that whole review we barely got to hear the engine once…FAIL.
your right! thanks. go warriors, giants and niners!
The gtr starts at 98k
Buying this car with automatic transmission is just wrong!!!
80k nissan gtr way faster
how old are you?
uh…only women or douche buys things for the name….and 75k with 0-60 in 4.8 is not performance…a GTR “nissan” is more prestigious than a “porsche” boxster..
i just said its luxury performance. its name comes from its creater. ferdinand porsche. it doesnt mean performance. for 75k. u buy the name. just like people who can afford to buy ferraris and lamborghinis. they dont care how fast it goes. they care about the name.
uh…think u grew up broke…porsche is not luxury….its name is suppose to mean performance…hence the fastest suv made by them…and a boxster is considered by most porsche owners “poor mans porsche”…for 75k everyone expects more
when u buy luxury performance, u usually buy it for the name and prestige. porsche brand better than a nissan.
You can’t afford it hahaha.
lmao such a rip off in other countries…..here in england u can buy this car for £45.000
Haha, the entry level Boxster costs in Brazil 175.000 USD. Deal with that.
75k for 0-60 in 4.8?…the 370z does that for 35k
Even looks like a smaller Carerra GT
Pure Class that kicks ass!
Very cool car. A little small for me, but It might be a car i’d get for my wife/gf and drive it sometimes for kicks.
Don’t complain, in Brazil the base boxster costs U$ 200 k
Why are cars so expensive in Australia? A base Boxster will cost in excess of US$ 125K…
Great review but honestly, convertibles are for girls.
agreed
I don’t like the style of that car
Very nice but the fact that you have to walk outside to get into the driving seat would stop me from buying if I had the cash.
650.000 euros ? holy sh*t that’s 150.000 euros more expensive than my House
650.000€ = 40 years of holydays for 16.250€/year. If I have 16.250€ holydays for budget per year, I would certainly not go camping.
And just a three liter diesel to pull it!

Why the separate cab? One of the most appealing things about a motor home is having access to the living space from the cab when under way.
