Eventually they are going to get it right and make a diesel hybrid use the electric for in town and the diesel for open road use.If they are concerned with emissions burn veggie oil most of the year and provide plug in parking.
Yea. have fun dishing out $26+ CAD grand for a VERY basic golf TDI to get into a new diesel car. It’s a great motor, but thats about all the car has to offer. If we actually got a lot of the cheaper, smaller diesels from europe, I’d be all over them but as it stands, they’re way too overpriced here.
You’re breaking the law
Obviously coming from someone who hasn’t driven one. I have no problem even 1 person in front, and 4 in back.
The problem is that there are not as many diesels in the US because of emission regulations. The only real option is VW tdi engines for normall vehicles in this price range. Even then, diesel costs more than gasoline, so that eats into savings. Also, hybrids get better city mpg than diesels. Where diesels shine is on the highway, at a constant speed.
Just buy a diesel hatchback like any European would, faster, better looking, better mileage

i still think the VW diesel is the top green car due to using bio diesel its pure clean energy and just as fuel efficient or better and more fun to drive

My Thoughts Exactly! Way over priced for what you get. This is nothing more than a slightly upgraded Civic but certainly not worth an extra $15K. After the 2012 missteps with the Civic you would think that Honda/Acura executives would have their act together. What a disappointment.
I admit I like the appearance of the ILX and actually prefer a smaller car these days, and while I have never driven one, I am guessing I might like it. But for the 32K that Acura wants for a loaded 2.0. I’d stay in bed. For 32K one can buy an Accord V-6 that gets almost as good mileage! And that car doesn’t require premium fuel. Even an Accord 4-Cyl is a better deal. This a laughing insult to consumer good sense on the part of Acura. Get real.
buy a Civic and give your mom $10k for Thanksgiving, she’ll bless you for life, unless you gave you away.

This might actually be a good car (especially the 2.4L for those looking for a true entry sport luxury car) if it was about 2.5-3k cheaper across the line. At that point is would be very competitive

Are you kidding? The TSX from 2004 is a better car than this.
Do you really think people are going to spend this kind of money for a tweaked Civic? Did you listen to the review- loud, mediocre steering, lacking gears and power, etc. Is the subtle exterior restyling, suspension tweak and decent interior worth $10k over a Civic? I think the sales numbers will show that it is not.
This is NOT a poorly executed car – have you seen the ILX in person? Have you driven it? Anyone in the market for a premium small car will not be cross shopping the Accord, Fusion, Altima, Camry, etc. The idea is to have a car that is unique and different! The ILX is just that – 6 speed for me, thanks!

Premium fuel just to get only 150 HP? Nah!
Why not get the Accord? It’s quicker, has similar fuel economy, faster, and has more technology in it.
Why do cars not come with 2 rear seat pockets? What does it cost? $10? Then car companies can just charge $100 more and you’ll have more use.
An 150hp engine on a 30k car? What is this the 80′s? And to not offer an automatic with the bigger engine is a sin in a Luxury car. Drop this to 26k and maybe I’ll stop laughing.

The ILX and the Accord are different cars. Some people want luxury compact cars. The accord is a mid size car.
